Dhaka North City Corporation has decided to install modern GPS and CCTV cameras in all the DNCC vehicles.
DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam said this while addressing a views exchange meeting with DNCC transport drivers on Tuesday afternoon at Nagar Bhaban, Gulshan.
“GPS tracker will be monitored regularly to keep a record of travelling and departure times. Legal action will be taken if anyone except licensed drivers are seen to drive the vehicles” the DNCC mayor said.
Drivers would be provided training for at least once a year. No vehicles would be allowed to run without license and garbage vehicles won't be allowed to run during daytime except urgent needs, he added.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Md Selim Reza, chief executive officer of DNCC, among others.
