A vessel carrying cement-clinker to Dhaka has capsized near the outer anchorage of Chattogram port on Saturday.
The accident occurred in the Bay of Bengal after the lighter vessel named Titu-14 collided with a sand-laden barge, the coast guard confirmed.
Coast Guard Contingent, Sangu Contingent, Kutubdia Contingent, and Sadar Contingent are conducting a joint rescue operation. 5 crew members of the vessel were rescued. However, 7 crew members were still missing at the time of writing this report.
