The Central Hospital authorities on Thursday filed a defamation case against Dr Sangjukta Saha, demanding Tk 500 crore for her alleged offensive statements against the establishment.
Supreme Court lawyer Shah Manjurul Haque filed the case on behalf of the hospital with Dhaka First Joint District Judge.
According to the case statement, the hospital authorities on June 22 sent a legal notice to Sangjukta Saha, demanding to withdraw her “false and confusing statement” regarding the treatment of one Mahbuba Rahman Ankhi and her newborn.
The hospital authorities alleged that the physician held a press briefing at her home, without the consent of the hospital, which has tarnished its reputation and brand of it.
