Munna Vagat a 20-year-old morgue worker arrested by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police on charges of having sex with corpses at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital (SSMCH) in the capital gave confessional statement before a Dhaka court on Friday.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Mamunur Rashid recorded the statement of Munna Vagat and sent him to jail.
Earlier on November 19, CID arrested Munna Vagat after allegations of having sex with dead women surfaced against him.
CID officials said the incidents took place from March 2019 to August this year and DNA tests in the CID lab also confirmed Munna Vagat’s necrophilia.
CID officers also said they have received some high vaginal swab samples from the SSMCH forensic medicine department and there was the presence of male sperm.
After Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) testing, CID lab results showed those were from a single person.
The investigators tracked several incidents, where Munna Vagat was at the morgue on particular nights.
