Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no three as deep convection is taking place over North Bay and adjoining areas due to the influence of the low-pressure area over Northeast Bay that has intensified into a well-marked low.

It now lies over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.

The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal, the centre of the well-marked low to Assam across the southern part of Bangladesh.

Light to moderate rain/ thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at most places over Khulna and Barishal divisions; at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Southern part of the country.

A mild heat wave is sweeping over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Tangail, Kishoregonj, Bogura, Rangpur, Sayedpur & Panchagarh and it may abate.

Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country.
