Dr Maj (retd) Abul Mokarim Md Mohsin Uddin, chief consultant of the radiology department of Ibn Sina Medical College and Hospital, Dhaka died Tuesday while undergoing treatment for coronavirus.
So far three doctors passed away from the deadly Covid-19 in the country.
Md Mahbub, information officer of Ibn Sina Medical College Hospital's customer care section, confirmed the matter to The Business Post.
He said Dr Mohsin, a freedom fighter, was undergoing treatment at the medical college at first and then was shifted to the intensive care unit of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka as his condition deteriorated.
He breathed his last Tuesday night at CMH, Mahbub added.
Earlier, Dr Md Moyeen Uddin, an assistant professor at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, died from novel coronavirus at Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital on April 15. Another doctor, Anwar Khan Modern Medical College Hospital's hematologist Prof Col (retd) Md Moniruzzaman passed away on May 3.
