A three-and-a-half-year-old girl died after falling into an under-construction sewer at Collegepara of the Alamdanga municipality in Chuadanga district on Wednesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Samia, daughter of Rokonuzzaman, a resident of the Collegepara area.
Alamdanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Biplob Kumar Nath said that Samia fell into an under-construction sewer that was not covered on Wednesday evening while playing in front of her father's shop on Collegepara Road.
Locals recovered her body from the water in the sewer around 9:30pm, the OC added.
