Child dies in Bongshal gas line explosion
The injured parents and sister of the deceased child were were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
 
A one-year-old child was killed and his family members were injured when a gas line explosion  collapsed a wall over them near Bangshal Kosaituli road in the capital around 8:15 am on Thursday.
 
After being rescued, the injured parents and sister of the deceased child were were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS).
 
The dead child Moinul's family members are- father Jabed, 35, mother Shiuli, 25, and sister Jannat, 4, Idris Ali, sub inspector of Bongshal Police Station confirmed this information to The Business Post.
 
Shaheen Fakir, officer-in-charge of Bangshal Police Station said, Moinul was crushed to death as the walls of the ground floor of the building collapsed due to the blast this morning.
 
The OC said, "There was a problem with the gas line of the house that was fixed once a few days ago. After an explosion this morning, the partial wall of a house collapsed. It can be caused by the pressure of the gas or the gas that has accumulated while burning the stove."
 
SHNIBPS Coordinator Dr Samanta Lal Sen said, all of the three burn victims are in critical condition.
 
The hospital's Resident Dr Partho Shankar Pal said, 60 per cent of the body of the deceased was burnt in the fire and 18 percent of his mother's body and 38 percent of his father's body were burnt.
 
None of them are safe as each of the injured has inhilation burns, he added.
