Children aged between 12 and 17 in the country can get Covid vaccine without showing any documents, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said on Monday.

“The children do not need to show birth registration certificates or any other documents to be vaccinated,” he said while addressing an event at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital in Dhaka.

The minister said so far 17 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered.

“The target population for vaccination is 11.55 crore, of which about 85 per cent have been brought under the vaccination programme,” he added.

Mentioning that there are 10 crore doses of vaccines in stock, Zahid Maleque said many people are still reluctant to receive vaccines.

The minister urged all to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
