Chinese Ambassador to the People's Republic of Bangladesh Yao Wen has visited the month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair on Friday.

He came to the book fair around 3pm with his wife and visited both grounds of the fair. At this time, he gifted books to the children and brought books from different stalls of the book fair.

Earlier, He was welcomed by China Book House ( stall no 791-792), stall of Confucius Institute of Dhaka University, by presenting traditional Chinese culture like lantern DIY, tea art, lion dance, calligraphy, opera mask painting, and papercut to the ambassador.

After visiting both grounds of the fair, Yao expressed his feelings to the media about his visit to the book fair.

Yao said, "I came to the book fair for the second time with my wife. It is a pleasure for me and my wife. I’m very happy to see most of the books written in Bangla books which are also an indicator of enriched Bangla culture and literature."

"We are very happy to share China Language, China Culture and China Custom to the Bangladeshi people."

Yao further added, "We want to publish a joint book (Bangladesh and China) about our 50 year relationship in the next year."
