A consignment of 91,200 doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine from China reached Chattogram Friday morning.
Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram received the vaccines at 7:00am on Friday in his office.
The jabs were kept at a certain temperature in the EPI (Expanded Program for Immunisation) room at the Civil Surgeon's Office after the doses arrived there in a freezer van of Sinopharm.
Fazle Rabbi said, "Inoculations will begin on Sunday at Chattogram Medical College inoculation centre. Medical students will get priority in the vaccination process."
Earlier, about eight lakh doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid vaccine arrived in Chattogram in two phases.
