A Chinese worker at the 1,320MW Second Thermal Power Plant in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali passed away on Sunday.
Co-workers of Zhou-Juping, 52, took him to Kalapara Upazila Health Complex in an unconscious state around 5pm when doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Md Jasim, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kalapara police station, said the cause of Zhou's death is yet to be ascertained. "We are investigating the matter."
The executive engineer of the plant could not be contacted for comment over the mobile phone despite repeated attempts.
