‘Citizens involved in cybercrimes abroad must face action’

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Saturday issued a further warning that Bangladesh nationals who are involved in cybercrimes abroad must be brought to justice.

"Some people are carrying out cybercrimes abroad... But we're monitoring all those. If they are Bangladesh citizens, they must be tried as per the country's law," he told a function in Moulvibazar.

The home minister was replying different queries of journalists after unveiling a plaque of the newly constructed "Juri Police Station".

Later, a rally was held at the police station premises.

Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Shahab Uddin, Neshar Ahmed, MP, Syeda Zahura Alauddin, MP, Sylhet Range DIG Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Nisharul Arif, Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan, District Council Chairman Misbahur Rahman MA Moeid Faruk and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zakaria also spoke.

Besides, local Awami League leaders and government officials were present at the gathering.
