City Bank and History and Culture Circle Bangladesh Limited (HCCBL) have recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of publishing an encyclopedia of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under the title Mujibpedia.
Mashrur Arefin, managing director and chief executive officer of City Bank, and Farid Kabir, managing director of HCCBL, signed the agreement.
The signing ceremony was held at City Bank Center in the capital, according to a press release.
HCCBL will publish the 1,000-page encyclopedia with about 700 entries in different versions and formats in December, before the Victory Day of Bangladesh, while City Bank will provide the financing for the publication of this book.
Poet and researcher Kamal Chowdhury is the chief editor of the book, while Farid Kabir, also poet and journalist, is the editor.
Dr Abu Mohammad Delwar Hossain, professor of History Department of Dhaka University, is the executive editor of Mujibpedia.
Mujibpedia will also include about 100 newly created videos to be seen via QR code.
