Two people were killed and another one was injured in a gunfight between two rival groups over establishing dominance in Dui Kilo area under Baghaichhari upazila, Rangamati on Wednesday.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Baghaichhari Police Station Anwar Hossain confirmed the incident.
The deceased were identified as Janan Chakma, a member of JSS group and Manimoy Chakma, a member of the UPDF reform group.
According to locals, the gunfight broke out between the UPDF reform group and JSS group over establishing dominance in the area around 12.30pm.
The injured was sent to Baghaichhari Upazila Health Complex.
The law enforcing agencies have been deployed in the area, the OC added.
