A CNG-run autorickshaw driver was killed when his vehicle overturned after being hit by a covered van in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area early Friday.
The deceased was Md Sumon, 36, of Niamati village in Bakerganj upazila of Barishal.
The incident happened at Rayerbagh bus stand around 3am, confirmed Jatrabari police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Rafiqul Islam.
Sumon was rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, SI Rafiqul said quoting witnesses.
The police have seized the covered van and arrested its driver.
