CNG-truck collision leaves two dead in Netrokona

Two people were killed and another two injured in a collision between a CNG autorickshaw and a moving truck on the Netrokona-Mohangonj road in Netrokona on Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as the CNG driver Abul Bashar Fakir, 35, and Siddiqur Rahman, 40.

Officer-in-charge of Netrokona Model Police Station Khandaker Shaker Ahmed confirmed the incident to the media.

Abul and Siddiqur both died on the spot, and the injured were rushed to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital by the locals in critical condition, he added.

The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to Netrokona Modern Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem, Khandaker Ahmed said.

Although the truck has been seized, the driver and his helper fled the scene after the incident.

Preparations are underway to file a case in this regard, he added.
