A three-day cold chain and infrastructure exhibition kicked off on Thursday, aiming to boost modern cold chain management to minimise post-harvest losses of perishable food items, said the event insiders.
The exhibition, showcasing products and solutions in the field of cold chain, including cold storage, infrastructure, power generation, renewable energy, safe HVACR (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, air-filtration and purification, and refrigeration systems), solutions and services, and water management, started at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.
Organised by Savor International Limited, the international exhibition titled “SafeCon 2024” and “Cold Chain Bangladesh 2024” aims to bring together domestic and foreign organisations to highlight advancements in the Bangladeshi cold chain sector, according to the organisers.
Senior Vice President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Amin Helaly, President of Australia Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Syed Moazzam Hossain, President of Bangladesh Cold Storage Association (BCSA) Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Senior Vice President of Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industries ATM Azizul Akil David, Director of China Yunnan Commercial Representative Office in Bangladesh Li Xiao, President of Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh Ke Changliang, former President of ASHRAE (the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Bangladesh Chapter Md Hasmotuzzaman, President of Bangladesh Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Merchant Association Mohammad Asaduzzaman, and Managing Director of Savor International Limited Faizul Alam spoke at the inaugural session, among others.
This exhibition, the largest and first of its kind in Bangladesh, features a wide range of products and solutions related to cold chain and infrastructure construction, including power generation, renewable energy, water management, and HVAC.
With 250 organisations from 16 countries participating, the exhibition serves as a platform for visitors from various public and private projects and institutions to explore the latest advancements in the cold chain sector.
