Mild cold wave is sweeping over Rangpur division and the districts of Kishoregonj and Noagaon and it may continue, according to a met office forecast for the next 24 hours commencing 9am Thursday.

Rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna and Barishal divisions; at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning at places. Air navigation, inland river transport and road communication may disrupt temporarily due to fog, the forecast added.

Country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 26.9 degrees Celsius at Teknaf and the minimum temperature today was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius at Dinajpur.

Country's maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am Thursday was recorded at 4 millimetres (mm) at Jashore.

Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining northwestern part of Bangladesh. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.

Night temperature may fall slightly over North-Northeastern part and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Cold day condition is likely to prevail at places over the country.

The sun sets at 5.34pm today and rises at 6.43am tomorrow in the capital.
