Communist leader Haider Anwar Khan Juno dies

Communist leader and freedom fighter Haider Anwar Khan Juno died at a hospital in the capital city on Thursday. He was 76.

He breathed his last around 1:30pm at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital, his daughter Ananya Laboni confirmed.

Juno was admitted to Square Hospitals on September 15 with pneumonia and heart failure. Later he was transferred to Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital on October 22.

Following a namaz-e-janaza at Dhanmondi-32, his body will be kept at the Central Shaheed Minar around at 10:30am on Friday to pay last respects from all walks of people.

He will be buried at Banani Graveyard on the same day, said Ananya.
