The High Court (HC) has ordered police to complete the investigation on United Hospital fire as early as possible. The court also ordered United Hospital authorities to reach a compromise on compensation with relatives of five patients who were killed in a fire at the facility's Covid-19 isolation unit.
Virtual High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim issued the orders on Monday (June 29).
Moreover, if the authorities fail to reach a compromise with the family members of the deceased then the court will issue its next order on the matter on July 13.
Barrister Rokon Uddin Mahmud was present at the hearing on behalf of United Hospital while Barrister Muntasir Uddin Ahmed appeared for the writ petition.
