State Minister for Water Resources Colonel (retd) Zahid Farooq today said the ministry has received the project plan of building sustainable embankment at coastal areas.
“We have received the plan and hope it would be passed in the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) within 15 days…Before the monsoon season we will start our construction work based on the plan at Khulna and Satkhira area,” he said.
He said this while visiting the repairing works of damaged dam caused by Amphan in Koyra in Khulna, said a press release.
“Following the direction of the Prime Minister, I have come here to visit the plight of the people in this area after Amphan…The premier provided Taka 75 crore to Bangladesh Army to work at 12 points and they have completed the repairing works at most of the places,” he said.
Akhteruzzaman, MP, Shyamnagar Upazila Chairman Ataul Haque Dolan, Koyra Upazila Chairman M Shafiqul, Additional Director General of Water Development Board Dr M Mizanur Rahman and Deputy Secretary of the ministry Rokon ud Dowla were present, among others, during the visit.
