Minister of Education Dr Dipu Moni stressed the need for coordinated public and private initiatives to achieve the goals in the field of education during a session organised by the World Economic Forum on Tuesday.

The minister was one of the four speakers at the meeting of the Education 4.0 Alliance in the forum being held at Davos, Switzerland, according to a press release received on Wednesday.

The meeting discussed the National Blended Education Master Plan (2022-2031) prepared by the Government of Bangladesh. The speakers also discussed Bangladesh's participation in the Closing the Education Gap Accelerator with the World Economic Forum.

Dipu Moni was also one of the speakers at a panel discussion on "Where will the jobs of tomorrow come from" held at the World Economic Forum in Davos.  She was accompanied by Canada's Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne, Sweden's Minister for Finance Mikael Damberg, and Netherland's Buurtzorg Founder Jos De Blok.

The discussion was moderated by New York Times Deputy Managing Editor Rebecca Blumenstein.

At the discussion, Dipu Moni highlighted the changes that are taking place in the education system under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She also shed light on the human resource development work that has been initiated to keep pace with the advancement of technology.

Creating new scopes of employment through integrated public and private sector initiatives, turning our human resources into skilled manpower, and other related issues including creating welfare-oriented jobs for the new generation, and facilitating the entry of women into the job market were also highlighted in her speech.
