The body of an on-duty police constable stationed at Dhaka Police Super's residence was found on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Mehdi Hasan, 26.
The incident took place around 3:00pm.
Bachchu Mia, In-charge (Inspector) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost confirmed the matter.
He said the body was kept in the morgue of the hospital. It is initially believed that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
