Bangladesh confirmed 20 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours. This is the lowest death rate in four months in a span of 24 hours.
The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 5,325 according to this latest revelation.
1,182 people tested positive in the same time frame for Covid-19 taking the number of novel coronavirus cases in the country at 367,565.
A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) made the disclosure on Saturday afternoon.
Health authorities reported another 1,442 people recovered from the disease in a day, rising the total number of recoveries to 280,069.
In the last 24 hours, 93 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 9,554 samples.
Of the total sample tests, 12.37 percent tested positive in the past 24 hours, while 18.57 percent cases were detected from the total tests conducted so far, the release added.
Among the total infections, 76.20 percent patients have recovered, while 1.45 percent died so far since the first COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
