More than 50 staff members, including 22 doctors and staff at Asgar Ali Hospital in Gandaria, Dhaka, have tested positive for coronavirus.
Foundation for Doctors Safety Rights and Responsibility (FDSR) confirmed the matter to media on Saturday.
The joint secretary of FDSR Dr Rahat Anwar Chowdhury, who also tested positive to Covid-19, said: “We have a list of 22 people who have tested for the virus - the number of affected doctors and staff may even be higher. We think it is very dangerous to keep the hospital running like this”.
Dr Rahat suspects, he and others contracted the virus from patients who come to the hospital from Narayanganj every day.
