The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested Md Abdus Sattar Mia, the cashier of Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital, in a case filed over the embezzlement of Tk 2.54 crore.
A team, led by ACC Assistant Director Mahbubul Alam, picked up Abdus Sattar from the Mitford area in Dhaka on Tuesday, ACC Secretary Mahbub Hossain told reporters at a briefing.
According to ACC sources, Sattar allegedly embezzled Tk 2.54 crore from the hospital, instead of depositing it in the government treasury. The money was collected from medical services and various tests from July to November this year.
Earlier the same day, ACC Assistant Director Mahbubul Alam filed a case with ACC’s Integrated District Office, Dhaka-1, accusing Abdus Sattar.
