ILFSL ex-director Nasim sued in graft case

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday filed a case against International Leasing and Financial Services Limited (ILFSL) former director Nasim Anwar on charges of concealing information of wealth worth Tk 1.12 crore.

The anti-graft body’s Assistant Director Taposh Kanti Bala lodged the case with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1, confirmed ACC spokesperson M Arif Sadiq.

According to the case statement, Nasim submitted his wealth statement to the ACC on August 12, 2021, and mentioned that he possessed moveable and immovable assets worth Tk 5.21 crore.

Scrutinising the wealth statement, the anti-graft watchdog found that Nasim concealed information of his wealth worth Tk 1.12 crore.

The commission said Nasim committed offences under the Section 26 (2) and Section 27 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act-2004 through amassing wealth beyond known sources of income and concealing information about it.
