Job scam: ACC submits charge sheet against 50

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday submitted a charge sheet against 50 people, including the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, for hiring unqualified candidates as food inspectors by manipulating marks in their answer sheets.

ACC Deputy Director Ali Akbar submitted the charges before the Special Judge Court, said ACC Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain.

By manipulating the computer software, the accused have unfairly given extra marks to 44 candidates in their written exams to get the jobs.

The accused named in the charge sheet are- Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute and former Deputy Secretary of the Food Department Nasima Begum, Deputy Secretary and former Deputy Director (Establishment) of the Ministry of Public Administration Iftekhar Ahmed, Director (Collection) of Directorate of Food Elahi Dad Khan, Development Planners and Consultants. Manager Md Ayub Ali, Former System Analyst and Technical Manager Asadur Rahman, Former Hardware Engineer Md Arif Hossain and Assistant Database Admin Md Abul Kasem.
