A Dhaka court on Tuesday accepted a charge-sheet against suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons Bazlur Rashid in a corruption case filed over amassing 3.08 crore taka beyond known sources of income.

On 26 August, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) pressed charges against Bazlur Rashid in the case.

The home ministry suspended him from service the following day.

According to the case statement, Bazlur Rashid signed a contract with a real estate company in 2018 to buy a flat in the capital's Siddheshwari area for 3.09 crore taka.
