A Dhaka court has asked the Investigating Officer (IO) to submit by October 13 the probe report of a case against the former vice president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur and five others on allegations of abduction, rape and violating Digital Security Act (DSA).
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Mahmuda Akter passed the order Tuesday (September 22).
Earlier on September 21, a female student of Dhaka University filed the case against Nurul Haque Nur and five others on allegations of abduction, rape and violating DSA.
The case was filed with Kotwali Police Station on Monday night.
Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman confirmed the news to The Business Post.
On Monday, the same woman filed a rape case with Lalbagh Police Station, against six people including Nur. She didn’t include abduction and violating DSA in that case.
The five other accused are Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad Convener Hassan Al Mamun, 28; Joint Conveners Nazmul Hassan Shohag, 28 and Md Saiful Islam, 28; Vice-President Md Nazmul Huda, 25, and a student of Dhaka University named Md Abdullah Hill Baki, 23.
Nur along with his six supporters were arrested from Matshaya Bhaban area around 8:30 pm when they brought out a procession protesting filing of the rape case.
The seven, however, were released one and half hours after their detention following a clash with police in the TSC area of the DU campus.
They were admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) after being released from police custody, in-charge of DMCH police outpost Md Bachchu Mia confirmed the media.
