A Dhaka court on Sunday fixed September 8 for recording testimony of prosecution witnesses in an arms case filed against expelled Jubo Mohila League leader Shamima Nur Papia and her husband Mofizur Rahman Sumon.
Earlier in the day, three more witnesses gave statements before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Emrul Kayesh in the same case.
The three witnesses are – Sudhanshu Sarkar, Md Shairul Islam and investigation officer Arifuzzaman.
As the investigation officer Arifuzzaman's could not complete his statement before the court on Sunday, the court fixed another date for taking the testimony and also a hearing.
On August 23, a Dhaka court framed charges against Papia and her husband in the arms case.
