Wagon carrying fabrics weighing 8.6 tonnes was seized by Chattogram Metropolitan Police authorized by the regional tax office of the Detective and Investigative Department on February 22.
The Chattogram district court has sentenced 3 convicted felons on Sunday for incarceration on the count of smuggling the fabrics, all of whom are SA Paribahan officials namely Mahbubur Rahman (manager, Khatunganj branch), Abdul Karim Bachchu (manager, Kazir Deuri) and Morshedul Alam Chowdhury (general manager).
