Former Member of Parliament (MP) at Dhaka-7 Constituency Haji Mohammad Salim wept profusely while standing before a court, after he was brought there in a case filed over the murder of Khalid Hasan Saifullah – a first year student of the capital's Ideal College.
The police produced Haji Salim before a court at 3:35pm this Monday. In the courtroom, he stood in the dock of the accused and kept weeping while putting both his hands together – which is a gesture typically used to apologise.
Lalbagh police station Sub-inspector Akkas Mia sought a 10-day remand for Haji Selim in the Saifullah murder case. After the hearing, the court granted a five-day remand.
