The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court on Saturday granted seven days of police remand to BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie for his alleged involvement in vandalising and arson attacks on Bangladesh Television (BTV) during quota movement across the country on July 18.

Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Shanta Akhter passed the order after hearing both sides as the police produced him before the court seeking 10 days remand, reports BSS.

Earlier, police arrested Annie from his house in the city’s Elephant Road on Thursday.

In this regard, the General Manager of BTV Mahfuja Akhter filed a case with Rampura Police Station on July 19.
