A Dhaka court has granted bail to e-commerce company Evaly’s Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Rassel in nine cases filed over cheque fraud.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court granted him bail on Thursday.
“Rassel secured bail in nine cases. But he cannot be released now as there are many more cases against him,” Rassel’s lawyer Ahsan Habib confirmed the matter to the media.

When asked about the exact number of cases filed against Russell, the lawyer said, “There are many cases filed against him. New cases are also being filed. I cannot say the exact number of cases filed against him at this moment.”
On September 15, 2021, a customer named Arif Baker filed a lawsuit against Mohammad Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin –accused them of frauding and embezzling – with Gulshan police station.
RAB arrested them from their house on Sir Syed Road in Mohammadpur the next day.
Shamima Nasrin is currently out on bail.
