A court on Thursday sent former public administration minister Farhad Hossain to jail in a case lodged over the killing of garment worker Rubel in the city’s Adabor area in a recent anti-discrimination student movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ragib Noor passed the order as police produced the former minister before the court after the end of his four-day remand in the case and pleaded to keep him behind the bars, reports BSS.
Farhad was arrested from the Eskaton area in the city on September 14 and was remanded by the court the next day.
Meanwhile, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman sent Safi Modasser Khan Joty, son of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, to jail after the end of his four-day remand in a case lodged over an attempt to murder on Md Robiul Sunny.
Sunny filed the case on September 11 with Ashulia Police Station against 30 including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
