Father gets life-term for raping daughter in Naogaon

A court on Thursday sentenced a man to life-term imprisonment for raping his daughter in Porsha village under the Porsha upazila of the district in 2020.

Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-2 and District and Sessions Judge Md Mehedi Hasan Talukder pronounced the verdict this afternoon.

The court also fined him Tk 100,000, in default, he will have to suffer three months more in prison.

According to the details of the case, on December 25 in 2020, the father forcibly raped his daughter at Noor Hussain's nursery in Ganesh Pur village of the upazila while she was returning home from the tutor's house at night. The girl came home and told her mother everything.

The victim's mother filed a case against her father at the Porsha Police Station.

Police submitted a charge sheet against the father in court.

After examining the record and witnesses, the court found the father guilty.

Special Public Prosecutor Advocate Maqbul Hossain confirmed the matter.
