A Dhaka court on Tuesday granted seven-day remand for Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) President and former information minister Hasanul Haque Inu in a case involving murder accusations related to the anti-discrimination movement.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider issued this order Tuesday, reports BSS.

Court sources said Inu was arrested and brought before the court in connection with a case for murder of businessman Abdul Wadud in the city's New Market area. The court has granted the remand.

Earlier, a team of DB police arrested Inu from a house in Uttara on Monday.

A case was filed naming Hasanul Haque Inu and 130 others as defendants, along with ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, former law minister Anisul Haque, and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

The case was filed on August 21 by the victim's relative Abdur Rahman, at New Market police station.
