A Natore court on Tuesday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife for dowry in 2013.
Muhammad Abdur Rahim, judge of the Women and Children Repression Prevention of Natore, pronounced the judgment this noon, said Anisur Rahman, public prosecutor, at the court.
The court also fined him Tk 30,000.
According to the case statement, Osman Gani of Basudebpur village of Naldanga upazila strangled his wife Rokeya Begum to death for dowry in his house on August 21, 2013.
Later, a case was filed following a complaint by Rokeya's brother.
