International Criminal Tribunal prosecutors senior advocate Syed Rezaur Rahman (unpaid) and Sabina Yasmin Khan Munni submitted their resignations on Saturday. With the duo’s resignation, all prosecutors finally resigned from this tribunal.

Advocate Rana Dasgupta, a prosecutor who had recently resigned from this tribunal, has confirmed the matter.

On August 12, prosecutors Shahidur Rahman, Abul Kalam Azad, Rezia Sultana Chaman, and Altaf Uddin Ahmed resigned from the tribunal.

The next day, on August 13, chief prosecutor Syed Haider Ali, prosecutor advocate Rana Dasgupta, advocate Zahid Imam, and Barrister Sheikh Moshfeq Kabir resigned.

A day later, on August 14, prosecutor Sultan Mahmud Simon, prosecutor Mohammad Mukhlesur Rahman Badal, and Barrister Tapas Kanti Ball resigned.

The then Awami League government had formed the International Criminal Tribunal after 39 years of independence to try crimes against humanity. The tribunal officially began operation on 25 March 2010.

Later on March 22, 2012, another tribunal named Tribunal-2 was formed. On September 15, 2015, the two were merged into one tribunal. A case has been filed in this tribunal accusing former prime minister Sheikh Hasina of genocide.
