Thirteen more patients died at the Covid unit of Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital in the past 24 hours till 8:00am on Sunday.
“Of the deceased, three tested Covid-19 positive while 10 others died with Covid-like-symptoms,” said Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, spokesperson of Covid unit of MMCH.
Among the fatalities, 10 were from Mymensingh, two from Netrokona, and one from Tangail.
As many as 236 patients, including 25 in the last 24 hours, are undergoing treatment at the Covid unit, he said.
Some 39 patients returned home after recovery during the same time.
Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam said 709 samples were tested in Mymensingh district over the past 24 hours and 114 people were identified as Covid positive while the infection rate was 16.07 per cent.
