Eighteen more people, including six women, died at the Covid-19 unit of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital in the past 24 hours till Monday morning.
Five of the deceased tested positive for Covid-19 while others died with Covid-like-symptoms, said RMCH Director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani.
Among the deceased, eight were from Rajshahi, four from Naogaon, three from Natore and one each from Chapainawabganj, Kushtia and Pabna.
With 69 new cases, a total of 495 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital against 405 beds.
In a 24-hour period, 654 samples were tested in two PCR labs set up in the hospital and the medical college. Of those, 218 came out positive, the director added.
So far, 480 people died at RMCH till Monday morning.
The RMCH, on June 29, reported 25 deaths from the novel coronavirus infection, which is the highest single-day death toll at the hospital so far.
