Bangladesh registered six Covid-19 related deaths and 197 new infections in the past 24 hours until Sunday morning. 

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached to 28,001 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.03 per cent on Sunday.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,77,443 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 19,132 samples at 848 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,09,81,606 samples.

Meanwhile, 226 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,42,274.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
