Bangladesh on Monday reported 94 new coronavirus-related deaths and 3,3724 infections in a 24-hour period till 8:00am.
The overall caseload now stands at 14,97,261 and the total fatalities at 26,109, according to the press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 30,855 samples at 789 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 89,00,248 samples.
Meanwhile, 6,186 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 14,21,883. The country last saw 12.33 per cent daily case positivity rate on June 10.
In the last 24 hours, the positivity rate dropped to 12.07 per cent from Sunday’s 14.14 per cent.
Among the fresh fatalities, 45 were males and 49 were females.
Dhaka logged the highest with 43 fatalities in terms of deaths per division, 7 in Sylhet, 6 in Rajshahi, 5 in Khulna, 4 in Mymensingh, and 1 each in Rangpur and Barishal.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
Meanwhile, the global Covid-19 caseload reached 217,367,943 and the death toll to 4,518,030 till Monday morning, according to US-based Johns Hopkins University (JHU) update.
