Bangladesh registered one Covid-19 related death and 269 new infections in the last 24 hours until Friday morning.  

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 28,017 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.34 per cent on Friday.     

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,78,819 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 20,052 samples at 848 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,10,82,94 samples.

At the same time, 249 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,43,740.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.

Meanwhile, the global Covid cases reached 268,663,978 and fatalities reached 5,290,569.
