Bangladesh reported two new coronavirus-related death and 213 infections in a 24-hour period till 8:00am on Tuesday.
During this period, the positivity rate declined to 1.03 from Monday’s 1.32 per cent. With this, the daily-case positivity rate in the country remained below 2 per cent for the 28th consecutive day.
In Bangladesh, the daily-case positivity rate reached its peak 32.55 per cent on July 24 this year.
The overall caseload now stands at 15,72,948 and the total fatalities at 27,928 according to the press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 20,764 samples at 836 laboratories across the country.
Bangladesh has so far tested 1,06,13,490 samples.
Meanwhile, 223 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,36,967.
Dhaka division logged two fatalities.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
Meanwhile, the global Covid-19 caseload reached 253,994,337 and the death toll to 5,110,098 till Tuesday morning, according to US-based Johns Hopkins University (JHU) update.
