Bangladesh reported 24 new coronavirus-related deaths and 589 infections in a 24-hour period till 8:00am on Saturday.
During this period, the infection rate dropped to 3.41 from Friday's 3.43 per cent.
The overall caseload now stands at 15,57,347 and the total fatalities at 27,555 according to the press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 17,283 samples at 821 laboratories across the country.
Bangladesh has so far tested 97,17,642 samples.
Meanwhile, 741 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,17,642.
Among the fresh fatalities, 15 were males and nine were females.
Dhaka division logged the highest deaths with 14 fatalities, followed by four in Chattogram; two in Rangpur; and one each in Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet and Mymensingh.
Rajshahi division reported no new deaths.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
Meanwhile, the global Covid-19 caseload reached 235,162,399 and the death toll to 4,807,663 till Saturday morning, according to US-based Johns Hopkins University (JHU) update.
