Covid-19: Bangladesh registers 245 more deaths

Bangladesh reported 245 more coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours on Monday till 8:00am.

Besides, 11,463 fresh infections were reported during the same period.  

With these latest figures, the overall death toll in the country now stands at 22,897 and the caseload at 13,65,158, according to a daily press release issued by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, the positivity rate dropped to 24.28 per cent from Sunday's 24.52 per cent.

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 47,207 samples at 707 laboratories across the country.

The country has so far tested 81,64,617 samples.

Meanwhile, 14,412 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours raising the overall recovery to 12,19,859.

Among the fresh fatalities, 128 were males and 117 were females.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
