Covid-19: Bangladesh reports 2 deaths, 155 new cases in 24hrs

Bangladesh registered two Covid-19 related deaths and 155 new infections in the past 24 hours until Saturday morning. 

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached to 27,975 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.15 per cent on Saturday.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,75,579 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 13,462 samples at 836 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,08,32,247 samples. 

Meanwhile, 188 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,40,018.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
